Landing a job at the Whistler Bike Co back in 2008 was the single biggest reason I ended up staying in Canada to this day - those connections to community and individuals will last a lifetime. And D'arcy was a critical, if fringe, player in my personal story. Whether stopping by to pick up Giant Derailleur hangers, or smirking as I sheepishly collected Formula brake parts from Evolution's stash, he was a gentle, kind, smiling figure who made this clueless immigrant feel welcome in his new home. Those days will always be special to me, and D'arcy will always be a special part of them.
